Nine races are scheduled for Wednesday with the first at 11.55am and the last at 4.38pm. Many of the leading northern region stables have large entries with the local Logan/Gibbs stable with 16 nominations, Tony Pike with 10 acceptances, Murdoch stables with 9, McKees with 7 and Steve Marsh with 6 acceptances. The day commences with the Tavistock Syndicate Owners 2yo maiden over 1000 metres. The field contains a number of youngsters who have trialed well including the locally trained Lisdoonvarna and Spinnaker. Off the track many teams from the local Pubs and Clubs will be doing battle for honours of the winning punting team on the day. The competition is always tough and the current holders of the Grand Hotel will be defending their title.
